Had to pick up my son today 9/3/23. I was traveling with my 76 year old dad. We both desperately needed to use restroom but they were blocked off!!! The man claiming to be cleaning restrooms was sitting down on his phone the entire time. Some people have medical conditions and or take medications which causes the need of the restroom. This is unacceptable!! Passengers getting off the Amtrak couldn't even use the facilities. Don't list this as an amenity if you're not going to have it opened!!!!!
Nice inside. Women's restroom is clean. Security is on the premise. Think he was DPD at the security desk by the door. Plenty of Dallas police outside driving by. Good AC, cheap vending machines while you wait.
If you’re a railfan I would recommend coming here as there is good freight and passenger action over here. There are homeless people, but for the most they aren’t harmful in any way ( I’ve never had any bad experiences w/ them ).
The staff is alright, the main part of the station is okay as well, but there's very few places to charge anything. Most importantly, the men's restroom is the nastiest place I've seen in my life. Genuine health hazard, the wall is rotting away in one part and there's flies everywhere. One of the lights was out, there aren't actual locks on the stall doors, and there was no soap whatsoever. Some of the sicks don't work and it smells like mold, mildew, and pee. I'm not exactly picky about restrooms but GOOD GOD IT'S DISGUSTING IN THERE
Glad to have a connection point from this station coming in on Amtrak from the north. The DART system is literally a track away and it makes it very convenient to hop onto the RED or ORANGE line to various cities in the Dallas / Plano area.
Wolfgang Puck Catering is the best! I worked an event and it was beautiful! This is where I parked close by. Pic doesn't do justice at all. Felt like I could hit it with a pebble lol. Took em through windshield in car.
Terminal is convenient to both the local operating light rail as well as nearby Greyhound station making it an accessible and practical transit center for AmTrak/TRE
Place is clean. There are no changing tables in men's or women's. Also kinda odd you can't sit on the floor, I was traveling with 2 toddlers it seemed fair to go to an area with less people. Nope. "Can't sit on the floor bud". No bags allowed in restrooms I have no idea what you are supposed to do when traveling with children. I guess the answer is that you change their diapers on the bench? Kinda gross.
